In this opening exercise I will show you how to create a simple A4 brochure ready for Offset Printing. Even though this is a simple exercise I will introduce you to the best habits and procedure that will set you on the right track for much more complicated work in the Tutorials that follow. It is most important not to skip any Tutorials because they are all related to a bigger picture. This Tutorial will also require performing Tutorial 5 on TheGimpTutorials.net and Inkscape also Tutorial 5 at Inkscapetutorials.net

In Tutorial 2 we will continue to develop the Project created in Tutorilal1 and learn the different ways of completing a Project for final Publication. You will naturally have had to complete Tutorial 1 before starting this Tutorial. Before completing this Tutorial please visit our Color Page and download and install the Adobe Color Profiles.

In this Tutorial we will create an artwork that has elements that bleed off the page. We will explain the different Printers Terms and how that applies to any document that we create for printing. We will import a .png Graphics Image created in Inkscape.
PNG files are great for Graphics, they have no distortion and have a transparent background. We will also import an SVG Vector Graphic file also created in Inkscape.

In this Tutorial we will use Images created in Tutorial9 and Tutorial10 in our sister site thegimptutorials.net. We learn how to create custom headers that fade into the page and prepare transparent Image objects. We will also learn about transparency issues with PDF files such as drop shadows and find a work around for this.

In this Tutorial we will look at setting up a simple 2 page Brochure again using Images prepared in The GIMP and Graphics created using Inkscape. We will than Prepare the artwork as a High Quality PDF/X3 for an Offset Printer.
